Emergent was founded on two simple truths.

First, protecting tropical forests is essential to stabilizing the climate, sustaining nature and biodiversity, and safeguarding the livelihoods and well-being of people - especially those who depend on and protect these vital ecosystems.

Second, the urgency of today’s climate and nature crises demands action at a pace and scale the world has never seen.

Emergent was created to bridge a critical gap, to overcome the fragmented markets and complex systems that prevent forest nations and buyers from scaling deforestation solutions effectively.

As an independent non-profit, Emergent simplifies transactions, accelerates climate action, and upholds the highest standards of integrity - maximizing the flow of finance to forest countries while helping to build a trusted, high-integrity carbon market capable of driving global impact.
