Catalytic funding to unlock finance, scale impact, and support communities

1
Accelerate Progress in Southeast Asia
Support LEAF's expansion in South East Asia, home to one of the world's three great forest basins - a priority region for scaling finance to tackle deforestation.

2
Halt Deforestation in Brazil by 2030
Brazil holds 60% of the Amazon and is pivotal to meeting global climate goals. Recent reductions in deforestation must be consolidated by scaling JREDD+, restoration, and bioeconomy pathways. Addressing the key gaps, including state-level readiness, full IP, LC & AD inclusion and unlocking private sector demand, are critical to sustaining progress.
3
Amplify Global Voices for Forest Protection
Support a program to amplify the voices of IP, LC & AD leaders through media, storytelling, and events to ensure their points of view are head and shape global efforts to tackle deforestation.

Powering a Systemic Solution to Tropical Deforestation
As a nonprofit, our goal is to maximize the scale and impact of nature-based climate finance flowing to protect forests, ensuring that the proceeds directly support the communities that depend on and protect them.

We have a critical window to accelerate Jurisdictional REDD+ (JREDD+) to provide the finance needed to halt and reverse tropical deforestation by 2030. Without this, the world will not stay on track to meet the targets of the Paris Agreement.

As we work to build a dynamic private sector market to support JREDD+ programs, philanthropy retains a vital and catalytic role to accelerate progress.
Strategic Opportunities
We invite philanthropic foundations, family trusts, climate collaboratives, and impact-driven investors to partner with Emergent to help accelerate our mission to halt deforestation with a focus on three critical priorities:
The Catalytic Role of Philanthropy:
A message from our CEO

“Forest carbon markets provide one of the most powerful mechanisms to deliver large-scale climate and nature ambitions. Through the LEAF Coalition, we’ve proven that high-integrity Jurisdictional REDD+ can unlock significant finance, drive measurable emissions reductions, and ensure frontline communities are at the heart of forest protection.

Philanthropy has a unique opportunity to accelerate this progress - by strengthening equity, scaling government readiness, and unlocking the finance needed for forest countries to end deforestation, protect nature and deliver lasting benefits for their people.”
